If I exclude the time that I was alive before the eclipse, I will live approximately 1080 years.
I will be in a human body for approximately one hundred and sixty of those years. My lifespan has basically been doubled. I will age slower than the average human, perhaps one year for every two years that I live. The human body will still wear down like any other human, and I will die.
After the human body wears down and finally dies, I will exist as a being in the spiritual realms. I will lose all of my humanity. My emotions, my empathy, my sense of morality. It is likely that my memories will also fade as time passes. Since the rest of the Godhand will likely be dead by this time, I will be alone. All that will be left for me to do is wait for the next person with a red behelit to despair. There will only be me, my employer, and the emptiness of the void.
Even before that, I’m going to find myself alone. My swordsman has been through enough stress and trauma (of both the physical kind and emotional kind) that I honestly doubt that he will live for 40 more years. Casca probably has longer, though it may only be a few more years. My wife, so long as she is not taken by childbirth, will likely reach her 70s. If I take a second wife, it is likely that she will die by the time that I am 150.
There is the possibility of another paramour after my current one dies. However, even losing my humanity and sacrificing Guts did little to shake my love of him. I doubt that death would lessen my love. I’m going to spend the last 10 years of my life alone, and likely more. It terrifies me. I don’t think I’m ready to lose everyone.
I think its for the best that I lose my ability to feel in 160 years.

What is Dialectical Behavior Therapy?
short answer: DBT is an alternative to Cognitive Behavior Therapy that places emphasis on learning specific skills (called modules) to cope with life difficulties. Cognitive Behavior Therapy analyzes the ties between thoughts / behaviors / emotions, (which provides some overlap), but does not explicitly focus on teaching the skills DBT covers.

absolutely the most accessible DBT workbook out there. if you know nothing about DBT, pick this one. it explains what DBT is, what the modules are/aspects involved, why the modules are important, and provides worksheets/exercises for practicing skills. the explanations are clear and simple and don’t bog you down with information at all. ideal if you’re working on learning DBT skills alone.

this is one of the reasons why i called these Official™ DBT resources. these are the handouts and worksheets (surprise surprise) drawn up by DBT founder marsha linehan herself, i.e. probably the resource DBT skills trainers draw from the most. if you want quick and easy wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am rundowns on dbt modules that let you cut straight to practicing skills, this is the book for you. the handouts are essentially explanation pages that sum concepts up in bullet points, and the accompanying worksheets are…well, worksheets, i.e. guides to putting concepts into practice. it may seem like there’s a lot of redundancy, but that’s because there are a handful of worksheets per concept, which allows people to pick whichever ones work for them.

this is the book used to certify therapists / social workers / etc. as Official™ DBT skills trainers (yes Official™ DBT groups require certified professionals), also by marsha linehan. it’s a direct companion to the handouts and worksheets book, but you don’t need this one at all. i’m serious. it’s very long and very dense, so if that’s not your thing don’t bother. however, if you’re a dweeb like me
who bought an actual physical copy of this book before finding the pdf loland you’re interested in the kind of behind-the-scenes aspects of how DBT groups are structured and why, this is obviously where you’re gonna find that information.
obviously these are not the Only decent DBT resources online, but they’re certainly the most comprehensive ones. as you might expect, the marsha linehan ones in particular are Extremely difficult to find in full. please let me know if the links go down, either through tumblr or by emailing bookkeeperfae@gmail.com.

Please keep in mind that the lunar eclipse must be closest to you in both time and space, and it may be in the past relative to your local time. I expect you to make arrangements accordingly.
Would a Solar Eclipse also work? It’s more convenient for me, but I understand if it’s not viable for you.
Fantasy Guide: Common battle wounds and how to fix them
- Arrow wounds: Now if the lung, heart, kidney, other major organ is hit, there may be little to do. The kidney has a back up, so maybe a skilled surgeon could save him, not exactly sure however. If hit by an arrow and not hit dangerously in an organ or artery, we can help. Firstly, DO NOT REMOVE arrow by yanking. Arrow must be worked from the skin by skilled hands. Once arrow is out, wash would with clean water/alchohol/herbal remedies. To heal slow, sew up wound and wrap in bandages. To speed it up, cauterise the wound with fire. It will hurt and patient pay pass out but now the arrow wound can heal faster. This works for crossbow bolts as well. On the gross side, arrows may be smeared with dirt or shit, so sepsis is a danger. This is how the great Richard the Lionheart died. Sometimes the mighty lion is killed by a shit arrow. But hey, shit happens. Arrow wounds take a couple of weeks to heal.
- Sword slashes: if shallow, wash and bind up. May require stitches. If deeper, repeat process with more stitches and more bandages. Even if shallow, the cut must be washed using alcohol or clean water. May take a few days to weeks to heal depending on wound depth and severity.
- Stab wound: Again don’t remove knife or object. If already removed, wash would and sew it up. You may need to cauterise. If guts, organs, brain, is falling out, there is nothing to do. This may take a couple of weeks to months to heal depending on wound.
- Broken Bones: A break must be splinted with a board of wood and bandages. Slings can support arms and wrists. If your character breaks a leg, it may be worse. Breaks don’t heal great without modern medicine. Your character may have a limp or leg pain. In you’re are living in a hot climate, you’re pretty much fucked because infection sets in fast. These may take months to heal.

Politics: Communism
…..I retract some of my previous statements. It is possible to reach a point that humanity will be able to collectivize without issue. Humanity is better than we think we are. Falconia itself is a proof of concept of that. It has smoothly run for about 6 years, with few hitches or problems. It’s viable to a degree that we have the equivalent of demons working with humans peaceably. We manage to get people into work that suits their skills and temperament, we have somewhat good healthcare as compared to our neighbors, and the disabled are not forced to work as they are here. The fact it didn’t immediately collapse in the months that I was gone is proof that it has some degree of staying power that wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t viable.
It could work here if people were given a while to adjust or enough tragedy to make a complete change acceptable. I have enough faith in humanity that I believe they could do it, even in this shithole of a universe. You’d still have a long hard fight against societal biases, though the fight would be less hard than it is now. Sexism, xenophobia, religious discrimination, and deform-phobia (I have no word for this) didn’t go away in Falconia because feudalism ended. I am still rooting out that bullshit after eight long years of fighting.
I still have concerns over leadership, as it would be necessary for the mass organization needed to not regress in some areas that are highly conservative or lose the modern level of technology needed for the high quality of healthcare that I envy this place for. Humans would still be needed for these leadership positions, and that room for error could still prove the weak link. You need someone capable of “running the show” near-perfectly at a national level as well as being able to prevent corruption at lower levels. If you wanted a series of smaller communities with a high level of interconnectivity, that might work, but would be fragile and have its own problems. It would still likely be the best option with how humanity is now.
If you want a leader, you’d need something like me. It could take the form of a computer, a committee, or even a human, but you couldn’t do it with an ordinary person. I have absolutely no interest in helping this universe with its own problems, and I have my hands full with Falconia already, not to mention my private life and *other* occupation. But I do wish you luck.
My apologies for the earlier cynicism. Half of my job is watching people sell their family and friends for power. I let my experiences with that cloud my judgment.

This country (America) is wealthy enough that the poorest of us do not have to farm for sustenance. Things that took months or years to make back home take minutes to buy from a store here.
Yet society is selfish enough and stratified enough that children starve and die of treatable diseases while the rich eat literal gold.
Not to be communist on main, but that’s highly broken. It says something about this world that you let this happen.
a society that allows people to starve when there is food has failed. like. that’s it.
People arguing with this saying, “why do people deserve food for free???” is honestly just further proof of the failure.
